Inbox folders for some users shows emty (no items) in webmail and outlook. But they are not empty

I moved email user folders from Windows server to Centos. Most of the users are just fine. But several users have empty Inbox folders and subfolders in the webmail and in the Outlook. I moved content of Inbox to Inbox_Recovered on a server, clicked on refresh directory cash for the user. All emails and subfolders showed up in the Inbox_Recovered, but new emails coming to Inbox stays hidden. Please advise

  I haven't found a reason, but this is work around:

  I deleted user, created again with same credentials, copied all user folders from backup, moved all content of inbox to new inbox location, refreshed cash for the user and viola! Everything is restored and works as supposed to work.

  Maybe this will help to save time for someone
