How do I allow UNIX users to retrieve email from a Mirapoint appliance without using a Web browser?

Solution

For users who are flexible about the mail client they use any of the following mail clients:

• Pine-Uses IMAP protocol, and provides text-based display of messages
• Mutt-Uses IMAP protocol, and provides text-based display of messages
• Mozilla-Uses POP, IMAP, and WebMail protocols, and provides GUI based display of messages

Elm is not supported. Those who need to use Elm or other non-protocol based email, can try Mutt as an alternative to Elm, or a fetchmail solution can be implemented that allows for retrieval to a local system, and then allows the user to read their email using their traditional reader, without any additional user intervention.
