Issue
If a relay domain xyz.com is defined, does the Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance relay email originating from anotherdomain.xyz.com?
Solution
The mail transfer agent (MTA) relays any mail with an envelope sender address from the xyz.com domain, as well as an envelope recipient address of xyz.com. This is also true for all subdomains of the xyz.com domain.
There are two common ways to use the relay list:
- Add all local LANs and domains so that local users can relay outbound mail to the internet (i.e. add the LANs/domains from which users can relay).
- Add all remote domains that you relay mail for (i.e. add the domains to which users can relay). This is most commonly used to provide secondary Mail Exchange (MX) services for remote domains.
