Issue
What is the significance of the RAID.SYSSTORE and RAID.SYSSTOREFULL alerts?
Solution
Mirapoint or RazorGate appliances have a system store partition which they use to store the operating system files and the temporary files that are created during the operation of the appliance. Sometimes, when the system load is high, the number of temporary files created is large and this partition gets filled.
The RAID.SYSSTORE alert is a warning that this partition is about to be filled. The RAID.SYSSTOREFULL alert indicates that the partition is full.
To see how full the partition, use the following command:
Stat Get RAID.SYSSTORE
Under normal operation, the partition may fill during a high load and clear once the load is reduced. This is not a problem unless the partition is filled and does not show signs of clearing.
If the partition is more than 90% full and either stays at that level for too long or continues to grow beyond 100%, the system should be monitored. It may be necessary to clean the remaining temporary files.
If the RAID.SYSSTOREFULL alert is occurring only at midnight and getting cleared shortly thereafter, the rolling over of system logs could be the reason, and should not be cause of concern.
