Issue
How do I configure Legato's NetWorker for Mirapoint NDMP backup?
Solution
NOTE: Before reading this article, Mirapoint highly recommends reading the latest version of the Mirapoint Backup and Restore Guide. This manual can be accessed from the Software Information section of the Mirapoint Support website. |
The attached document describes the required steps to configure a Legato NetWorker (version 7.1) data management application (DMA) and Mirapoint appliance for NDMP backup when the Mirapoint appliance is equipped with MOS 3.6 or greater. This procedure applies to Unix systems.
If you are running NetWorker version 7.1.2 on a Solaris workstation, install the 64-bit package. Legato's 32-bit version does not operate correctly when working with NDMP file histories. Versions other than the 64-bit package can "hang" when attempting to do a recovery. If you are running NetWorker's 32-bit package you need Legato's patch, or you have to uninstall it and install the 64-bit package.
Legato's Windows 2000 version also fails without their patch. Contact Legato directly for more information on running either the Solaris 32-bit package or the Windows 2000 version.
