    Hello,
disabled accounts are still counted in the license. The only way how to free up occupied seats is by deleting accounts. If the client is planning reactivating accounts later, we recommend doing a backup of the mail folder (/opt/icewarp/mail/doma.in/user), as well as exporting data from Groupware - that can be done through Remote Console: Groupware > General > Export and select the desired account. On the same place you can then import the Groupware data.

    Regards,

We would like to evaluate whether it is possible to prevent disabled user accounts from taking up space in our current license pool.

These users are no longer actively using email services. Therefore, keeping these accounts licensed creates unnecessary resource consumption. Similarly, we have observed that disabling other services such as conferencing frees up license space.

In scenarios where the email service is primarily used for data storage, keeping the licenses of deactivated accounts active can lead to additional costs.

If this functionality is not currently available, developing a license release feature for deactivated accounts would be an important improvement in terms of our resource management and cost efficiency.
