Which network topology (NAT & port forwarding, 1:1 NAT, bridge)?
Hello,
i#m unclear about how to deploy the server into our network.
We have a running FreePBX server, where i was told to use a 1:1 NAT.
In icewarp, there is not only SIP (which is a NAT adversar) but also XMPP and FTP, which all don't like NAT.
We have softphones and harphones in LAN and also with roadrunners (Smartphones, etc.) and we need authentication against a inhouse (LAN) AD-controller.
So my question is, which network topology to use?
If icewarp would include additional security functionality, like a "learning" firewall, something like "fail-to-ban" or other software i would choose a bridge topology and put the icewarp server directly in the internet (with public IP) but i#m unsure if this is really a secure thing.
So, what is the recommendation for the network topology?
