Am I required to use a tape library in conjunction with RazorSafe?

No. However, Mirapoint highly recommends the use of an approved tape library with RazorSafe. Although it is possible to operate the RazorSafe without an attached tape library, Mirapoint strongly discourages this practice. Data Redundancy is a requirement of many compliance regulations. This requirement is fulfilled by archiving messages to tape. Storing on tape also provides disaster recovery protection and some compliance regulations require two archives of your email.
