Issue
How does the Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance protect against external attacks and attempts at overloading the system?
Solution
The Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance protects against denial of service by denying connections during an attack, whether the attempted connections are to the SMTP, POP, IMAP, etc. services. By denying connections to the targeted service, the other services maintain normal operation. The Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance can then ride out the attack and resumes normal operations as soon as the attack has passed.
