Issue
When I attempted to delete a particular message from the mail queue, I get a response indicating that the message is locked. For example:
machine.yourcompany.com> Mailq List
AAZ17512 20000901000759 -------------- "" 40069 1
user@machine.yourcompany.com>""<bounce-user2-11832@list.example.net>"
OK Completed
machine.yourcompany.com> Mailq Delete AAZ17512
NO Message is locked
Solution
Use the Administration Suite to delete the message by doing the following:
Identifying the Message
To identify the message in the message queue, do the following:
- Navigate from the Home page to Queue.
- Use either the Search or Sort option to locate the message to be deleted. The problem message should be listed in the queue but shown as locked. Messages are locked while the Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance is processing them. You can wait for a few second until the message is unlocked, or stop the SMTP service, delete the message, then restart SMTP service.
- Select the message to be deleted.
- Click Remove to clear the message from the mail queue.
Stopping SMTP Service and Deleting a Message
If you decide to stop the SMTP service to delete the message, do the following:
- From the Home page, select System > Services > SMTP.
- Click Stop to stop the service and clear the lock.
- Navigate back to the Home page, then select Queue.
- Select the message to be deleted.
- Click Remove to clear the message from the mail queue.
- Navigate back to the Home page, then to System > Services > SMTP.
- Restart the SMTP service.
