Issue
How can I keep someone from hacking my Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance?
Solution
Mirapoint (RazorGate is powered by Mirapoint) protects against appliance hacking in several ways:
The Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance can only be accessed through the application layer and not the operating system level.
Port access is restricted. For more information on port access and function, see Mirapoint Appliance Port Information.
Placing the Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance behind a fire provides additional security. Messages can be routed to it through the firewall by enabling only port 25 through the firewall. This ensures no users outside your domain can access the appliance via the administrative ports or through IMAP or POP. If your users need access via POP or IMAP, enable those ports through the firewall for external retrieval.
