Issue
What is the purpose of the Mirapoint email alerts, and what are their possible causes?
Solution
When a fault (an error detected or generated by a Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance) occurs, the monitoring function sends an email alert to members of the system-alerts distribution list. The user designated as the main system administrator receives all email alerts by default.
It is good practice to send system alerts to an email address outside the Mirapoint or RazorGate appliance. This allows you to view a system alert in the event of an appliance shutdown.
You can add the email address of a pager with email capability to the system-alerts distribution list, and receive alerts anytime, anywhere.
For more information on email alerts, see the Mirapoint Message Server/RazorGate Administrator's Guide or the Message Server/RazorGate Administration Suite Online Help.
