Issue
Whenever I try to search for emails on my RazorSafe appliance, the following error is displayed, "You have the ability to search, but only to view emails sent by or to your own email address, which is empty. Please contact an Administrator."
What does this error mean, and how do I fix it?
Solution
You need to make sure that the viewemails permission is properly disabled/enabled for the user or group experiencing this error. Be sure to disable the viewemails permission if the user does not have permission to view emails for themselves or if the user is a member of a group.
You can enable/disable permissions using the RazorSafe administration interface:
- Go to Users and Groups, under Local Accounts, click Users.
- On the Local User Accounts page that appears, click the Edit icon (pencil icon) for the user experiencing this error.
- On the User Editing page that appears, click permissions.
- Select/Deselect the viewemails checkbox.
- Now, go to Users and Groups, under Local Accounts, click Groups.
- On the Groups page that appears, click the Edit icon (pencil icon) for the group that the user belongs to.
- On the Group Editing page that appears, click permissions.
- Select/Deselect the viewemails checkbox.
