Issue
What do I do if my StorageTek L20/40/80 tape library generated a "CHECK CONDITION" warning message after the NDMP data management application (DMA) issued its first command?
Solution
If any modification is made to the StorageTek tape library that might change the status of the contents of the library (for example, opening the door or CAP door on the unit, a hard reset of the library, etc.) the next SCSI command issued by the NDMP DMA produces a "CHECK CONDITION (with asc=28, ascq=0)" warning message.
This warning message signals a "not-ready to ready transition" problem, and a read-element status check should be done to the contents of the library.
If this warning message occurred, it is after the Mirapoint appliance rebooted and the first NDMP DMA command issued failed, but the second command executed without a problem.
When this problem occurs, do the following:
For more information on the Diag command see either the online CLI help or the Mirapoint Administration Protocol Reference.
