HARDWARE SIZING
When deciding how to allocate resources, it's crucial to consider how users will primarily use them and if there may be an increase in their numbers.
Usage can vary significantly between a company with mostly WebClient access versus one with various desktop clients on multiple stations that need periodic synchronization with the server.
Typically, users require resources based on average usage.
If you need a personalized recommendation based on your specific scenario, don't hesitate to contact IceWarp Support.
Number of users | Number of CPUs | Amount of RAM |
01 - 10 | 2 | 4 GB |
11 - 50 | 4 | 6 GB |
51 - 150 | 4 | 8 GB |
151 - 500 | 4 | 12 GB |
500 + | 6 | 16 GB |
1000 + | 8 | 20 GB |
1500 + | 12 | 24 GB |
We advise using a high availability clustered solution consisting of 2+ load-balanced IW appliance nodes for scenarios with over 2000 users.
It is possible to scale the Icewarp Appliance node to 24 CPUs and 64 GB RAM for 4000 users, but additional configurations are needed to ensure smooth operation (E.g., Kernel limits fine tuning).
