How to upgrade IceWarp 32-bit to 64-bit

Update of IceWarp server application from 32bit to 64bit is no different from update from 64bit to 64bit version, with few prerequisites needed to be dealt with before the update itself:

1. Fast CGI configuration via IW console.

2. Upgrading SQL DB.

3. Running IW update.

General Requirements

Ensure that all web server extensions are set to FastCGI in IceWarp Administration Console - Web - Default - Scripting.

Upgrading MySQL

1. Copy 64-bit libmysql.dll to Windows/System32 folder. The link to the 64-bit libmysql.dll (MySQL 5.5) is below.

2. Make sure 32-bit libmysql.dll in Windows/System32 is not present.

3. Make sure there is 32-bit libmysql.dll in Windows/SysWOW64. The link to the 32-bit libmysql.dll (MySQL 5.5) is below.

4. Run the upgrade process to 64-bit IceWarp Server. 

5. Use IceWarp Administration Console to test the connection to all the databases (Accounts, Anti-spam, Groupware, Directory Cache, WebClient, ActiveSync and Spam reports).

6. If you use MySQL also for WebClient cache and cannot log into IceWarp WebClient, copy the 32-bit libmysql.dll also to folder IceWarp/PHP.

Upgrading MSSQL

1. It is necessary to configure both instances of Microsoft Data Access (64-bit and 32-bit odbcad32.exe) with the same System DSN.

2. Navigate to Windows/SysWOW64 to run odbcad32.exe and check your current System DSN settings.

3. Navigate to Windows/System32 to run odbcad32.exe and set up exactly the same System DSN as the one above.

4. Run the upgrade process to 64-bit IceWarp Server.

5. Use IceWarp Administration Console to test the connection to all the databases (Accounts, Anti-spam, Groupware, Directory Cache, WebClient, ActiveSync and Spam reports).

6. Log into WebClient to see if everything works correctly. Check Contacts (Groupware) and Blacklist & Whitelist (Antispam) functionality.

After these steps are taken, it is possible to run IceWarp update itself.
