To migrate a database, we'll need to create the new Database (DB), then use the Database Migration utility from the IceWarp Console to perform the migration.
SQLite3 is the default and pre-installed DB for small deployments of less than 400 users.
The default name of the GW DB is "groupware.db" and is located in the Calendar folder. For example, in C:\Program Files\IceWarp\calendar\groupware.db
Follow these steps to migrate a database:
1. Create the new GroupWare (GW) Database (DB)
2. Use the Database Migration Tool to complete the migration.
1a. Open the Console > GroupWare > General > click on DB Settings. This will open a new window.
1b. Create a new GW DB by simply appending a 2 to the default DB and pressing the Test Connection button - this will create the new database.
NOTE: If the Test Connection is successful, the system will create the new DB.
1c. Verify that the new database was created. Open file explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\IceWarp\calendar; you should see the new DB named groupware2.db.
2a. Now open the Console and navigate to System > Database Migration.
Click on the Source and Destination DB buttons to select each of the databases, and Test the Connections.
Press the Start button at the bottom of the Window to initiate the migration.
You will see the question. Read the dialog message and Press Yes when ready to continue.
NOTE: Depending on the size of the database, the migration may take a long time to complete.
2b. When the migration completes, you will see this prompt "Do you wish to switch to the destination database now," select YES. That is it. The migration is complete.
You may want to create the migration log for any errors.
2c. To verify, open the Console > GroupWare > General > click on DB Settings.
You should see the new DB set.
