Overview
Red Hat has officially announced that CentOS 7 will reach the end of life (EOL) on June 30, 2024.
What is CentOS Linux?
CentOS Linux is a freely available, community-supported Linux distribution that was developed, distributed, and maintained by the CentOS Project community contributors. It was derived from Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® sources and released in alignment with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux release cycle.
Why is CentOS Linux going away?
In 2020, The CentOS Project, in coordination with Red Hat, announced that it would shift full investment to CentOS Stream, the upstream development platform for upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases.
What does EOL mean?
End of life (EOL) occurs when a product or service is discontinued. Organizations that use the product will have to migrate to a new solution to continue receiving updates and security patches.
Customers using CentOS 7 with any version of IceWarp must migrate to Rocky Linux 8 or 9 as soon as possible if they want to receive our technical support.
What are your migration options for moving to Rocky Linux?
We have prepared a migration guide to help customers move to suggested operating systems.
To further assist in your migration planning and execution, the IceWarp migration assessment service is available to evaluate your current CentOS Linux setup and ensure a smooth transition to Rocky Linux.
If you have further questions regarding the migration, do not hesitate to contact our support.
