You can turn your existing installation of IceWarp Server into a complete virtual office. Add collaboration services (Instant Messaging, TeamChat, and WebDocuments) to your license and enable them on your server.
Once you have obtained the license with the groupware, you need to reactivate it to see the new service modules in the license list.
- To reactivate the license, start Remote Console and go to Help -> License.
- In the License window, click Activate License and enter your current Order ID.
Note: On Linux, you can use WebAdmin or wizard.sh to enter your current Order ID. - Once done, the new services will appear in the license list, ready to be utilized.
In order to use the services, enable them in Remote Console.
- Go to System -> Services.
- If the service is not enabled, it is marked red. Select the service in the list and click Start to enable it.
If you want to manage a particular service before you start it, click its name in the left menu to access the settings.
Note: Restart services to apply the new settings. |
To ensure the service works properly, allow the service ports on your firewall. You can find the ports in System -> Services -> double click a service -> Properties.
TeamChat
We recommend using MySQL, MS SQL or Oracle DB storage for the TeamChat database. If you have another storage, e.g. SQLite, use the integrated database migration tool to move the data into a newly installed database. To learn more, see the article about migration.
To use the TeamChat service:
- Make sure that it is enabled and running. It has to be marked green in System -> Services.
- Create a group of users. We recommend creating a group with all domain users.
- Create a public folder in the group. Check Create TeamChat and Create a public folder.
Note: You can also enable TeamChat throug WebAdmin. Learn more in the video tutorial. |
WebDocuments
You can enable the WebDocument service in System -> Services or in GroupWare -> WebClient
Instant Messaging
You can enable the Instant Messaging service in System -> Services. Also, you can click Instant Messaging to open its settings and click Start.
