IceWarp offers its customers all the benefits of WebDocuments as a microservice. You do not need to perform any additional configuration, the service is always up-to-date, all the new features are available, and we are ready to provide technical support 24/7 if you have any questions.
The on-premise version of WebDocuments is no longer available. This means that once you upgrade to Epos, you will automatically switch to the WebDocuments as a microservice.
Note: If you use on-premise WebDocuments and want to upgrade to Epos, you should purchase the WebDocuments as a microservice, and your existing on-premise instance of WebDocuments will no longer function. |
WebDocuments as a microservice
Microservices offer greater possibilities for upgrades and more collaboration options. Also, they provide better safety for your sensitive information: private, health, finance, or confidential business data is protected from intrusions. Our clouds use secure APIs to connect the services. This ensures that information is only available to specifically authorised users, applications, and servers. IceWarp services comply with HIPAA standards of data protection.
Once a user starts the WebDocuments application, the following communication between WebClient and the cloud happens:
- User requests the server to open WebDocs.
- Server requests the cloud to open documents and upload the interface.
- Cloud downloads data from the server and converts it into readable form. The cloud sends the converted data back to the server.
- The server passes it to the user and displays it in a user-friendly interface.
Though a document is edited in the cloud, once the editing is finished, the changed documents are uploaded back to the server. Thus, all data are stored only on the server. Communication between the cloud and server is encrypted. Cloud only serves for reading the data stored on the server and providing the interface.
We always recommend upgrading to the newest version of the server and applications. This improves work efficiency and data security.
